Which spill tray do I need for IBCs?

An IBC holds a lot of liquid. If something goes wrong, you want all of it to be contained. Use these questions to choose a suitable IBC spill tray.

IBCs and drums in flexible spill trays in a commercial building

1. How many IBCs are there?

Count the number of IBCs at the location at the same time. Flexible spill trays are available for one to several IBCs, and custom-made.

2. Which liquid do they contain?

The material of the spill tray must be resistant to the liquid. Keep the safety data sheet to hand. We check the suitability for your liquid.

3. How much containment capacity is needed?

This depends on the volume of the IBCs and the rules for your situation. Also read our article on choosing the right containment capacity.

4. Indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors, rainwater can get into the spill tray. This reduces the available containment capacity. Take this into account when choosing and managing it.

5. Temporary or permanent?

For temporary and changing locations, a flexible spill tray is practical. For a fixed set-up, another solution may also fit.
