What is a flexible spill tray?

A flexible spill tray (also called a flexible drip tray or spill containment berm) is a containment tray made of technical textile with raised edges. It catches liquid that leaks or is spilled, so that it does not end up on the floor, in the soil or in the sewer.

How does a flexible spill tray work?

The floor and the edges together form a tray. If liquid leaks from an IBC, drum or machine, it stays within the edges. You can then clean up or dispose of the liquid in a controlled way.

When should you choose a flexible spill tray?

  • You need containment at a temporary or changing location
  • A steel spill tray is too heavy or does not fit
  • You want to store the containment compactly after use
  • You need a non-standard size

What to look out for

  • Is the material resistant to your liquid?
  • Is the containment capacity sufficient for your situation?
  • Is the spill tray indoors or outdoors?
  • Will equipment drive over it?
