What is this product for?

The Starter is the economical version of the flexible spill containment berm for 1 drum. It has the same sizes and construction as the Plus version, but is made of orange polyester fabric with a PVC coating of 900 g/m².

The Starter is light and intended for short-term contact with chemicals. For fuels and aggressive substances, or for long-term use, we recommend the Plus version in EVA. The photos show the Starter version for IBCs; this version has the same orange PVC fabric.

Questions about this product

What is the difference between the Starter (PVC) and the Plus (EVA)?

The sizes and construction are the same. The difference is the fabric. The Starter is made of polyester fabric with a PVC coating of 900 g/m²: economical and light, intended for short-term contact with chemicals. The Plus is made of heavier fabric with an EVA coating of 1,365 g/m²: stronger, chemically resistant to a wider range of substances and with a 7-year manufacturer's warranty.

Which liquids is the Starter suitable for?

According to the manufacturer, among others for engine oil, antifreeze, battery acid, hydrochloric acid 10%, water-glycol solution and calcium chloride solution. Not for petrol, diesel, glycol 100%, isopropanol 100%, oleic acid and hydrochloric acid 32%. If you store fuel or solvents, choose the Plus version in EVA.

When is the Plus version the better choice?

If you store fuels or aggressive chemicals, if the berm will be used for a long time or intensively, or if you want the certainty of a 7-year manufacturer's warranty. In doubt? Send us the safety data sheet of your substance.

How quickly is the spill tray ready?

Unfold the berm and slide the brackets into the upright wall. No tools and no additional structure are needed.

Does the stated capacity include the drums or IBCs inside?

No. The stated containment capacity applies to an empty berm. The volume taken up by the containers themselves is deducted. For the standard models the manufacturer has already taken this into account: at least 110% of the largest container remains.

How do I clean the spill tray after a leak?

Remove spilled liquid as soon as possible. A berm is meant to catch leaks, not to store liquid. Follow the safety data sheet of the substance and do not leave rainwater in the berm either.
